Gas Octane for the HEMI. In reading the owner's manual on our 2007 Hemi Grand Cherokee, 89 octane is the recommeded fuel over regular and premium. With only 300 miles on our GC, I filled up with 93 octane Sunoco gas and I think I noticed a decrease in power. The next day, I added about 5 gallons of regular (after 60 miles) and the snap came back.

Here is the fuel economy info off the window sticker of each version. The salesman told me that the Hemi kicks down to 4 cyl when cruising on the highway and get better fuel economy at that stage. I noticed that disagrees with what the info on the sticker says. 22 mpg highway for the Hemi and 25 mpg highway for the V6. Yes, I know.
