[UPDATE] - I am able to see all the servers now. I overlooked "Source" at the top of my screen in the browser, which was defaulted to "LOCAL." Once I set it to "Internet" all servers populated. First of all, don't use SteamUnlocked, it is known on most cracked fourms to have malware links, plus there are better, safer, and faster alternatives. Reddit is a good source for sites; r/ PiratedGames and Piracy have megathreads that will help you on which sites are safe or not.
IW4x is an open source project that allows you to set up your own dedicated servers with modifications for Modern Warfare 2 on top of a decentralized network. Main issue is the lack of vanilla lobbies and possible ping (it's region based). You can of course also play it on Steam but beware of hackers (there is an RCE exploit sadly but the patch you have two places to look for : Plutonium ( MW3 & BO2 & WAW ) xlabs ( MW2 & Ghosts & AW ) as for the rest of the series you have to look for yourself and also if you have cod 4 (pirated or not) patched to 1.7 you can download cod4x which is unofficial 1.8 patch you can play multiplayer and bug fixes (I think).
It's a modded version of MW2 with a server browser, completely separate from Steam servers. It's community-run dedicated servers have their own anti-cheat systems (or at least the good servers with a higher number of players).
